finally got the M30 bled, its running at a steady 188degrees while sitting which I feel is a bit hot once I boost it. My M20 ran at 170degrees until it was beat on a lot and even then 190 was about as hot as it would ever get. keep in mind both cars ran a 71c thermostat, I'm thinking I need a better electric fan all ready. what flow rate are others running?
Mine is rated at 2300cfm and is 12", would I benefit going to a 2300cfm 16" fan or would the difference in size not make a huge difference since flow is he same?
I can also fit another 10" fan on the front of the intercooler than does 1800cfm but I'm not sure it would help being mounted 3" away from the rad.
since my fan is a pusher its only about 80% efficient so its not even moving 2300cfm that means as well
let me know what you guys think.

Probably need a bigger fan. If that doesn't help then try and bigger rad

another Q how will increasing diameter of the fan and keeping equal flow effect my cars cooling?
bigger surface I'd think would help cool more of the fluid but at the same time I'm not sure it would make as big of a difference as adding a small fan to the front of the intercooler and or a really small fan as a puller on the opposite inside corner of the rad.

It would pull more air across a bigger surface area. I would try and find a 16 inch fan with a bigger flow rate. Your small fan idea may work better though cause that would increase the flow a lot more.

Are you sure your 12 inch fan is 2300 ? That is a lot for a fan that small.
Edit: just found it at Summit. The same fan in 8 inch is even higher CFM.
Even if those numbers are somehow correct, i think a larger fan would help a lot. When the fan is on, you only have airflow where the fan is. The rest of the rad is stagnant. It would be like blocking part of your rad as you are traveling at speed, it makes a big difference.Last edited by LJ851; 07-29-2014, 01:08 PM.
