Hang in there, I was in the same boat just a couple of weeks ago. My car was having charging issues. I replaced the battery, the cables, the alternator, and a cluster from Bav Restorations. Broke down and had it towed to a shop and my brand new alternator turned out to be faulty. Sent it back and got a new one and its been fine ever since.

The car is reliable though, 36k miles in 18months and still going, but I really didnt think I was going to fail the tail pipe test. Its hard to see the numbers but at 15mph it was way below the max, even less than the avg in some, but the 25mph it was over on everything, 4x the max on HC (HydroCarbons), barely over the limit on the CO (Carbon Dioxide) and almost double the max on the NO (Nitrogen Oxide)...
Its been a rough day, and Im hungry. I havent eaten lunch. I need a burritoSimon

If you havent seen the other thread ( here ), I let my friend (a former E30 owner) borrow my car while I took his truck away for the weekend. Unfortunately it rained in LA that weekend and he locked up the wheels and crashed the car. These were pics taken a few days after as we waited to get the verdict from JMP

We already got a new oil pan as the one on the car got busted, Im sure the control arms are toast, at a minimum. Hopefully there isnt frame damage, but we'll find out soon
Well, this might be the last pic of my car in "one piece" ... we'll see

Simon, I didnt realize the damage was THAT extensive...mine suffered similar damage (not extensive), but it required new control arms, bushings and an alignment from a good shop. After that, things were back to normal.
I really hope things can be worked out man...such a cool car! :( if not, then.....I already know the plan haha -Brad, AlphaTeam Motorwerks, LLC

Theres a solid backup plan, thats all I will say right now.
Ive only been around the car for maybe 15 minutes on sunday since all of this has happened. My friend has been dealing with it and is making sure the end result is something I will be happy with.Simon

Aw man that's terrible. I didn't even get to see it yet!
Hopefully things pull through with your friend. Shit happens, it's how he follows up on fixing it that matters.
