Noooo, very unfortunate. Sorry to hear that man, you're having tough luck with this car lately. Hopefully things start looking upComment

Looks like it can be fixed so Im going to have JMP swap the oil pan and associated bits first to make sure the engine is solid, then if it sounds like an engine with 36k miles should, I will have them fix the suspension.... then its just the looks that will annoy the shit out of meSimon

The immaculate sound quality hitting your face flesh after I send you these tweeters tommorow lol.
Really interested in seeing your car running again. It'll be worth it to you.

Yup, oil pan is getting replaced right now. I wanted them to do that first to make sure the engine didnt get fucked. If thats all good and it still looks fine underneath, then I will have them move forward with fixing the suspension. The cosmetic stuff will be done laterSimon

Happy New year everyone!
I just got word that my car will be ready early this coming week. They are waiting for a new fan to come in. Oil pan has been installed and the motor is said to be in good shape. This makes me very happy and now we're looking at a new pair of front wheels along with a new pair of fenders. Probably buy the euro fenders that have been for sale in the classifieds because finding another set of mint alpine fenders will be a major headache. I'm also not convinced that the front wheels are bent but my friend thinks they are and we luckily I found a pair not far from us down in Laguna beach. I'm excited to be driving the car again soonSimon

Simon, bummer about the fender bender. I am glad that it looks like it can mostly be resolved with replacement parts.
Regarding your SMOG fail, the high NOX number says to me that the cat is in bad shape. What sort of shape is it in, and how much super-rich mixture has it been exposed to? Even on my M42, I tend to replace the cat every 4 years or so since we can only get the cheapo Magnaflow ones in CA anymore, and they don't have nearly as much material in them as a stock one.
Hang in there dude. I have been where you are. After dropping way too much money on my engine build, I had a valve spring crap out 70 miles in, then the integral expansion tank in the radiator cracked, and then another valve spring went at 1000 miles. I got very close to giving up and selling it as a roller so it would be someone else's problem, but now that it has been behaving for a couple of years I am happy with it.Comment
