He can just sleeve those 3 cylinders there is nothing wrong with doing that. I know many people that have done it and couple that are running sleeved s5x's in race cars with zero issues. plus sleeving a cyl is like 60 a pop. that will be far cheaper then a new rotating assembly

yeah, I want to keep the s50 block cause bay area referees actually look at the numbers on it

Is your crank still good? Can you just go to the S52 piston size? It nets you ~3025cc and makes it a slightly overbore setup.

I would even be tempted to use a M52 crank if you could and make it a real overbore setup with a 86.4mm bore and 84mm stroke. Still would be considered a 3L (2955cc)

s52 pistons with an s50 crank will lead to very low compression, the wrist pin height is higher on s52 pistons due to longer crank throw.

I haven't looked at nonstandard builds yet.. not sure that there's a convenient piston that I can use with an 84mm stroke crank.

Well that sucks. Here I can get it done for 60 with labor or sometimes just for the cost of the sleeve. Whats a sleeve run out there?

yup, e30 M3 rears. got my hands on a set of caliper carriers and didn't see a need to figure out something bigger.

In good news, I traded the S50 crank to Eric for his S52 crank and pistons, and arranged with Rebello to get the block boiled and bored out to 86.4mm, which should be happening in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, I am looking at bottom end bearings. Glyco's ok, yeah?

In that case you'll have the exact same setup as I do. You'll probably have to shave the e46 carriers up front. Lmk if you got questions.

Ebrake lines are easy to remove/install fyi

not looking forward a ton to installing the fronts..
