The trans are not at a different angle, the engine is. With this swap you use the m20 mounts on the 24v engine.

Yes that is an option. I am not a big fan of that remote booster with all it's linkages though. I will try a GM hydroboost first.

You didn't have to modify the front subframe? I can see this build thread becoming the go to for s54 ix swaps. The oil pan seems like the most difficult part of this build.

dunno if this was covered but so just to clarify you work in a shop and this guy just dropped his car off with essentially a blank check for this?

The front subframe on an iX is completely different than a RWD car.

Front subframe is untouched...just the modified oil pan. The suspension, drivetrain, etc is just as if the m20 was still in the car.

Yes I run/own a shop (www.classicdaily.net) and I am building it for a customer. I wouldn't say he left it with a blank check. There was/is a budget and we do our best to stick to that.

I added a 3/4" piece of aluminum tube on the passenger side. Will need to figure out dip stick length once there is oil in the pan.

Thanks all. It is a pretty fun swap.

Aluminum tube into the oil pan?

Thinking this may end up being the best swap for my iX in the future. Keeping my eyes on prices for an S54 now. Can't wait to see this finished!

Jake, your work is so damn cool. Thanks for sharing your skills with us and documenting it. I know I appreciate it!

Yes aluminum tube welded into the pan. I'll snap a picture of it once the dip stick is worked out 100%.

you're welcome...most of what I learned was from reading build threads so I like to teach if I can. (I was a teacher for 8 years after all)

If you sold these oil pans, I would <3 you forever, and buy another iX.
