Been a while since ive posted any updates. Did a few things to the old e30 this past week.
Decided to try out plastidip for the first time. Came out pretty well! Sprayed it in gunmetal grey and the car looks GOOD!

Still needing to finish the roof and trunk lid and re spray the hood. But it turned out nice

Also picked up some higher flowing injectors from the local pick and pull off of a 2.0l vw jetta. They nade a big difference in driveability. Engine runs alot smoother and quieter while going down the road. after re-adjusting the afm and timing the car redlines around 6700rpm(unless my tach is off) and throttle response is much better as well. Quick, cheap, easy mod for the old m10!

Stock injectors were pretty well worn!

Also in the last month. Rear shock mounts, water pump and trans mounts were replaced

Had to make an alternator bracket out of some steel laying around the shoo because the original piece split

A new better looking drilled aluminum piece is is the making to replace it

Been contemplating slapping together a little low boost junkyard turbo set up. Been looking into it and i think i can put it all together for around $700. Was thinking a saab turbo(or just spending a little more on a cxracing t3), ebay manifold, piping, and a small intercooler, hks bov, raising rate fpr, and all the small miscellaneous stuff. I believe with the stock l-jetronic setup i should be able to run around 8psi with out going the stand alone fm route and still net me a good 150-175 quick spooling horsepower

I wouldnt worry about making it faster yet. Ive heard people have had decent success swapping to the M42 motronic setup instead of the kjet stuff

If you want some really quick spooling power for really cheap the Mitsubishi 13C turbos that came on later RWD Volvos are kings of spool and cost their weight in dirt.

I'm interested to see how this goes, I almost bought an M10 powered 318i but it had too much rust and the seller had an unrealistic price expectation. But that lightness, that balance...

Went out this morning to pull off the rear spring pads to get it a little lower in the rear. Jumped under the car and noticed break fluid leaking from the pass side rear drum.

The culprit..looks like everything was replaced by the po but this
glad i decided to get down there and look! Could of been going down the road and lost the breaks.

Ill keep that in mind! I was at the pick and pull yesterday and there was an audi a4 with the 1.8t and the ko3 in it looked looked pretty clean
A few volvos as well but most of them were fwd models
