    Tesla's Flying Car

For anyone who hasn't seen, Telsa has announced a flying car that does 0-60 in under a second.

While it's impressive on a technical level, my general feeling is that this is just a novelty for the wealthy to show off to their friends, and for that reason it's kind of underwhelming. IMO we've reached a point where faster 0-60 times don't matter, and the flying feature is only going to be usable on a closed course. Nevermind the fact that most people struggle with piloting a camry, let alone a car that can move in three dimensions. The suction feature is pretty impressive and it'll be interesting to see what it does for track times. At least it's better looking than the Cybertruck.

What do you all think of it?

    meh

To me the 2017 launch iteration looked better, this one was just a low poly Gallardo in white. The 0-60 time, while impressive, is a parlor trick superlative and the car won't achieve any of the other conspicuously absent superlatives touted in 2017, like the price, 600mi range or 250mph+ top speed. Same as the cybertruck which was 50% more expensive for the base model and in higher end versions didn't offer anywhere near the 500mi range mentioned in the launch event. Regardless, it was a stunt car show to get more pre-orders and a stock value bump, will any of them even be on the road in the next few years? As for the flying, not only is it basically a movie prop built for this presentation much like the last tesla roadster event, but I think they don't even intend to offer it, they can just take advantage of the built in "out" the government will give them by saying you can't sell a car that does that for use on roads.
