Looking into it, I found a pic where someone was able to stick a punch through the case. Shame, I just put new wheel bearings in this thing about a year ago. So, I guess I'll pull the one from the Disco frame and re-seal it.
Really wish this happened at a better time and I'd just re-gear while it was apart.....but no such luck.
I am eyeballing the peg kit from Ashcroft. Good idea?Last edited by slammin.e28; 09-20-2013, 06:46 AM.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5

Yeah, the banjo / pan part seems like just sheet metal, but the axle assembly is thick steel. Weird.
Looked up the peg thing - never heard of that before. Hard to imagine a diff case 'flexing' any! Is there drag on the ring while you're driving?
I'm about to re-fill my son's rear axle. He says 80-90 hypoid oil. Is that the correct type?
Spotted on the Denver Post, assisting in the CO flooding...or maybe it was just parked there..

Oh goddamnit. Ignition switch would not fucking turn this morning. So I threw a shit fit. Sat there for 20 minutes, eating up my time to drive to work, trying to get this thing to turn. No, I didn't have graphite spray, of any spray really, at hand.
So, start looking for a new one when I finally get to work.
Range Rover ignition switch.
SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!?
That's insane.
So I think we're going to do some creative wiring and eliminate that bullshit.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5

Man, love this thread on Pirate.
95 Classic Build
Eventually mine will probably end up like that, as I replace things with upgraded things, etc. Going to have to retire it from DD duty and buy an L322 eventually.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5
