Trade my S4 for an Evo 8?

Got a possible opportunity to trade my S4 for an Evo 8.

The catch? The Evo is in pieces currently, engine is apart, but all parts are there. Also, the engine parts that need assembled consist of a forged rotating assembly, cams, and valve train. Once assembled it is a "built" engine that will satisfy all my cravings.

I was planning on tearing down the S4 for a single turbo build this winter anyway, so I don't mind the project side of things. Ill be yanking the trans and replacing the 1-2 shift collar and new synchros as a part of this deal.

What say you, r3v? The Evo is a superior platform for all out power, so I'm very tempted.

As much as I like your OwDee(seriously though, awesome car), I love me an evo. I considered buying one that looked in fantastic condition, but it had a salvage title. I've decided that the next car for me will either be a Scooby or an Evo.

    TL/DR- EVO!!!

Completely agree on Evo as well.

Had a close buddy with a B5S4 and while it was cool and all, it paled in comparison to the joy I felt riding around in an Evo 8 or even an 04 STI.

Evo. If you don't do it most of us will be upset with you.

Don't do it, you'll miss the torque down low amd the crypto luxury the Audi provides. Also, cops love to chase Evos.

It's tough roguetoaster is right, because the audi is probably a nicer ride, a better sleeper, and not nearly as cop prone. But I mean a built evo is a build evo. I'm also a fan big baller turbo four cylinders. ;)

I'd have the evo, and I'm not even about all-out power, I'm more of a fan of well-rounded performance.

Are you a boy racer wannbe???

Me I would stick with the B5, and keep your plans interacted for it. Like mentioned above not as cop prone, far nicer inside, plus the B5 is more of a "family mans" street speed car than a riced and ridiculous evo. but if all out power and speed is what your after then the Evo is going yo be the way to go.

Personally I like the idea of an evo better, but I think the S4 is a little more practical.

If you dare go that route, the Evo will be far more of a project than you anticipate. But it is a very raw machine that does its job damn well. They're expensive and they'll nickel and dime you to death until you sell it. I've had two. One I did a full build on. Holy hell I would never want to own another, but that's just me.

I prefer to drive my cars, not work on them. Granted, the S4 isn't exactly known as a reliable machine, but it's a bit more of a respectable car IMO.

When you're 40 and still driving an Evo you either

                            a) still live with your mom

                            or

                            b) still live with your mom

This is what I built and sold. The coilovers were more than every E30 I've ever owned. Never again.
