Any e34 masters here that can help me with a few different random odds n ends on my 525i ? Anything from the infamous ‘seat twist’ to recapping the CM5903 Radio, also the M50 looks like it’s leaking oil in random places. Car has 117k miles'88 325i cabbie royal blau

My head gasket is leaking oil down the passenger side (a common leak, I'm told). So instead of merely replacing the gasket, I bought all the gaskets & seals and water pump & belt to complete the job (from Bimmerheads, thanks guys!).
But I thought, why stop there, and put the dirty cylinder head back on? So I bought another head to rebuild. It's now disassembled, all cleaned up and ready to be machined, but something came up...
A friend had a motor for sale. So I bought that. I bought an s52 long block. It needs a rebuild, which I'm not afraid to do.
With the change of plans, I'm not sure if I should hold onto the stripped M20 head, finish rebuilding it, and put it on the M20 when it comes out of my car, or... just sell it off to fund the new build now.
I'll ponder, and suggestions are welcome.

Thank you r3v for all your useful information hidden everywhere!
BTW, get your hands on the correct brake booster for the swap.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:D

I vote OBDI. OBD II over complicates things TBH. I'm not talking about the implementation but having to be a slave to the Check Engine light and dealing with things like Smog pump, 4 O2 sensors and having the correct exhaust, etc, etc is a pain in the ass and is unnecessary in a swapped E30. It's been a constant battle on my E39 with smog pump, cam sensors (although I changed it twice the light still comes on), O2 sensors, gas cap seal. A check engine light that won't turn off is like a death sentence for cars in CA which is why you see so many from those particular years in good shape in the junkyards. Maybe it makes sense if you have an entire donor car that was a known good driver, otherwise I wouldn't bother."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj
