Watch it when you can, it's hilariously awesome.

Thanks guys. My gut feeling is it's more than pad compound. I ordered new ceramic composite pads that Cal will have in tomorrow. I have a set of rotors that came with the car, but they are Napa Premium brand with a huge Made in China stamped on the box. I'm gonna swap them out in the morning. I'll replace them with rotors with something proper when I figure out what the problem is.

Roland I'm going to order a new wheel bearing and do that while front end is torn apart. I'll get new rear shock mounts from Ben, should I order anything else? I've got the 15mm drop hats. Should I order new washers? My rubber spring pads are shot, was going to order new OEM ones. What about bump stops? If I can scrounge the cash I'll get new subframe and trailing arm bushings too, makes sense to do that while taking the rear end apart.

Your original washers should be fine, bump stops should only be replaced if they're broken. subframe and trailing arm bushings are a HUGE undertaking fyi. Basic shocks and springs are one thing, but the bushings are a pita.

Get new front upper strut bearings/mounts.

Psh, just replace everything while you're taking the car apart. Might as well do it once and not worry about that one thing you left undone.

I wasn't sure about the upper bearings and mounts.

I always have a "how deep to go" conversation in my head when I start tearing things apart. I can do the subframe stuff later. I have a homemade tool and want to practice on the E30 before I do the M Coupe. At least I don't have to pull the tie rods to do the rear.

Well, you can DD another car or two while the E30's being worked on, ya? Just do it at once and make it a project.

                    E30 Suspension (brakes earlier)

It's not DDing the other cars, it's M Coupe being exposed to rain and snow while the E30 is up on blocks. I know, I know...

Get the upper strut mounts. Not only do the bearings wear but the bushings to too, double wear item. If you are doing springs there is no reason not to do the upper mounts too. Do it right.

For a DD I wouldn't go H&R Race low, nor would I buy any IE part. Bimmerworld, GC, or Turner will sell good RSMs, so will JT Designs.

Unless IE's RSM is really that much better than anyone else's, I wouldn't buy it. Their camber plates suck monkey trucker scrotum.

their RSMs aren't bad. Super simple design, not much to go wrong, plus mine have worked for years, and are in perfect shape despite daily driving, autocross, track day, and a couple rally races. So there is firsthand experience for ya. They came with the reinforcement plates, alot of the other options you had to buy the plates seperately for $20 extra, that is what sold me on these at first.

But yep, they work great, through years of brutal abuse.

Hm. they don't look like crap, so maybe they're not.

IE's motor mounts, on the other hand, are the biggest pieces of garbage I've ever seen someone try to pass off as a useable product.
