200whp with stock N/A rotating assy?

Title says it all. How close do you think we can get to 200whp N/A with only exhaust, head work, induction and a good factory bottom end?

I think you would need pretty healthy amount of head work, bigger than stock bottom, and eliminate the afm and full exhaust.

Purely speculation on my part, but from my reading. And those are all in my plans currently.

i think its certainly possible when done correctly. add a proper set of headers, headwork and proper induction system to a 155whp SPEC motor.....

cubic inch wont make a hell of a difference to peak hp when an engine is built right... torque numbers on the other hand...
89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

Yes TQ will suffer, just curious as to what someone has done with bone stock high mileage used bottom end has received

local m20b25 racers are 195whp on fresh bottom end (euro piston 9.7:1 ) thats with basically stock induction and cam but the rest as per your list i.e headwork, exhaust, etc. a bit of tricky is used during the test though

They aren't somehow sourcing new oem cast 9.7;1 pistons are they?

JE make an exact replica of them (+0.5mm) as they are NLA. morerevsm3 would know he was involved in this

Ah, I was hoping for cast mahle's, but yes forged versions would be easy enough to do.

And forcedfirebird, I've had a couple Swiss guys get into the 180-185 on stock bottom ends and extrude-honed intakes (along with other bits). I'm guessing a proper set of ITB's would bump that up a bit.

With the higher compression Euro motors?

Yes, plan is cam, over-sized valves, porting, ITB's, mid length headers with an x and dual exhaust.

Digger, what says PipeMax about the placement of the x pipe? I have Dynomation, and have been meaning to get PipeMax just to help with exhaust.

from memory it is 60", but 30" might net better topend hp.

with the head you dont need a bigger exhaust valve it can flow >160cfm+ with a 36mm exhaust valve with the right shape, go +1 or +2 inlet only IMO. dont focus too much on CFM there is already enough CFM for 200WHP

                          (duncan bonar)

But thats with high comp built. Not sure how you could get the same out of stock pistons

Not going to stop the effort ;)

Rama saw 178whp with ITB's on a stock high mileage engine. Oh yeah, since this is a stock Spec e30, gonna throw your tune on it for back to back comparisons. :-)>

No lying, non biased, facts are facts kinda gig. Same day, same dyno, same car. Let's just see what squid has to offer! I'm going to say minimum 5whp from chip alone....
