This looks like an old school 90's build. Back then many ETA owners including myself would spend money to spruce up our ETA's thinking we'd get significant power gains. That valve cover has the ICV mount found on 86-87 year model ETA's only. I'm not sure if they ALL had them or not but it's obviously not needed on any 325i.

I called it! The owner passed away. Pretty sad but makes sense because there’s no way the owner would willingly let a prized piece just go ANYWHERE to ANYONE let alone a junkyard.

There are tons of parts on this car that you can just clean up, polish, put on Ebay, and rein in some money.

Hartge is a dead company now in any case, so records are not going to happen.

Good on you Fred, you had a cool car.

Part number on the diff is 1 210 433. Google is generating TYP 188 medium case LSD. Is this good or bad? LOL

also the number on the engine block was 22553887 there was a 1278 HH stamp on it as well. The head had a 2.7 ETA stamp on it. I think this is just a regular eta motor that someone threw rare cosmetic parts at.

Also, I pulled these side skirts. Part number Kamei 44315. They seem like the rare X1 side skirts gathered from googling. They’re pretty beat up though. You think someone would want these?

The tag on the cover or the internals are what you want to look at, the part number is not very meaningful.

Haha I saw this post and the post with the haul aftermath somewhere else. Maybe Reddit?

if there is no tag or visible painted s on the diff you can take the rear cover off to verify. it'll cost you some ls diff fluid and a cheap gasket.

All you gotta do is spin the diff. If both turn in the same direction then it's lsd, and just count the turns.

Had to check the post year on this. Thought a dead thread from ancient times was bumped. Good score!

they all spin the one direction if it's off the car. you have to hold one side while turning the other. you need the axles attached to provide enough resistance.

edit : spinning them off the car to check used to be an old scammers trick.

I know, I thought the diff was still in the car so figured i'd be the easiest check..
