That might be a bit a stretch,,, that car is an uncommonly detailed swap.
Most 4V swapped cars I have encountered have "nowhere" near this level of attention to detail or cleanliness of build to them

I'd hazard that 75% of all the swapped E30s I have encountered either in person or reading this forum are thrown together as cheaply and quickly as possible.
Or someone spends all kinds of money on the actual engine,,, then drops it in a car that has the cheapest shit coil overs available and wheels that don't fit,,, and zero other actual "work" done to it.

If this car were the "norm" then I'd agree, but this car is a bit of an outlier.

Most 24 valve swaps are motors with over 100 K with just new gaskets and they call that a “rebuild.” The swaps that have been on bring a trailer have done quite well because they’re clean and well thought out. That’s why they typically are fetching over $10,000

Damn Austin, making me rethink my s50 car I'm selling. Tempted to just keep it and finish the paint job on it! Could be worth so much more.

What I mean is nicely done cars selling for $20k+ rather than 15-17k. There was a swap car on BAT that sold for 24k recently IIRC that was a surprise to many and now this car at 9k with 6 days left.

Im guessing the reserve was $30k and it just barely cleared it... That was a nice looking M3 though

S54s are getting cheaper and cheaper. With how much more $ they pull in value, its almost makes more sense financially to do a s54 swap over a s50/52 swap these days.

I bet that would of got pretty close to 40k with a s54. (although I havent looked over every detail of the car)

Almost but not quite there yet. The M50/S50 family came in so many cars. People who never did a swap are now doing them for less than 5k. Solutions are well established for that swap. We need more companies to fab up solutions for the M54/S54 swap to bring the prices down. Having my 323i swapped to S52 is running about $5k. S54 swap was $10k minimum just to drop it in and go.
