Sad to see this project didn't pan out, however very excited to see you go for an NA M20. I've watched that clip a bunch of times and once I saw you talking about ITBs I knew that was going to be the one you linked. I hope it goes well and you get to toot your trumpets many times.

Give CA tuned a call. They used the RHD throttle bodies with the trumpets. If you have questions I'm sure they can answer them bro.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

Whatever you plan to do, I'm sure it'll be great, but I agree on taking some time off to work on other projects. The m30 is so close to being complete, but I see where you're coming from. It's tough to look at things as a challenge rather than a giant pain in the ass. Good luck, Kam!Comment

Well I just finished reading through this entire thread (took about 3 weeks here and there)... What an emotional roller coaster! Kam, you should right about book, maybe you can add a few details here and there, start a new genre, you would have every car guy in tears!
I do have to say it is the best looking e30 I've seen for my taste.. Can't wait to see what comes next!Comment

Sucks to hear... I would definitely do an N/A m30 over a N/A m20 if you've already got the m30 in the car. My old m30, at only ~220whp was a riot.
But, I have to say it..... You should really consider the s54. It's stupid awesome and mine isn't even tuned yet. You want a quick revving motor that makes power on top end, the m20 isn't really that great at that no matter how much money you throw at it but the s54 is stock.- '88 m54 coupe

Just wondering did you use stock manifold gaskets or those cheesy shiney ones?
Like these.
Never use those they are garbage.
Stock gaskets will hold it all.
It's just bad luck you just have to learn from mistakes.
The m30 revs out and has a ton more power everywhere then the m20 or m50.
Tune it right.
Did you use a weird aluminum flywheel? Just use the stock one don't worry about it.
Kind strange that the bolts come loose everytime.Comment

I still think M6xb4x Twin turbo is the way to go.Dumpster Fire PilotComment

Here is the my head is cleared and I've had time to think it all over.
M30 is coming out( it has to be)but I'm only going to sell off the turbo parts for now, the M30 will go into the garage where I will save up for a new crank and flywwheel and get that put in.Then next summer I can drop it back in.
In the mean time I've already found 3 possible M20's, going to do a quick N/A build, Race the snot out of it until M30 is finished then switch back and keep the M20 as spare reliable motor.
This will ensure maximum E30 use, I hate seeing it sit there. so for this summer M20 ITB build, next summer back to shredding tires at 50mph.
many updates to come will try to get M20 this week!
