Bolts have been turned. I decided to rebuild the OG motor vs hot swapping the spare S14 since I'd want to go through it regardless.

I can't imagine the bores are round enough to rering/rebearing, but we will see. A set of sport evo 2 pistons would be a nice addition if I have to bore the block. Hoping the crank/head/block are good.

This was the first time I've had the car in the air and it's better than I thought it'd be. Someone replaced the rack with a non-M reman. I bought a spare rack a while back just in case. Drivetrain is in much better cosmetic condition than expected. Brake/fuel lines are in great shape which I was happy to see.

I waited a long time for it to be the right time, and that time is now.

Ran out of time tonight, but it's dme connector, a/c, and oil cooler lines away from dropping out the bottom!

Getting pretty excited about this project now.....

I was worried about so many things that ended up being better than expected. A nice perk of having low/no expectations.

I am going to splurge on a set of 11:1 pistons, and would like to find a sport evo flywheel. Keeping the top end stock to save budget for the rest of the mechanical refresh.
