Can someone tell me how to insert images? It doesn't work the old way and it's doing my fucking head in.
It used to be, I'd upload on imgur, get the {img} link, and just paste that in to a post and away we go.
Now if I do that it automatically puts the whole image in the post (not just keeping it as a {img} text entry), deletes all the text that was already in there, and then won't let me type in the post any more. This is particularly annoying as when I put a second image in it deletes the first one.
Am I retarded? Yes. But I used to do it this way and it doesn't work any more and I can't make it work.

That's still how I do it, but it uses brackets not braces. The forum software automatically reformats your image links and shows an image in your post box, which I don't like, so I click the source button (far left) first and compose my post like that, then hit preview to make sure it looks right before I post. If you hit source again after a preview you'll see that all of your image links have been reformatted.

On imgur the three dots button, then get share links, then bbcode, it gives you something like this.

When the forum software reformats it does this:

I just find it annoying that if I'm typing my post and paste an image link it blows up in the post box with a full size image so I use the source button to compose.

Weird, I paste the bbcode link from flickr, delete the junk, and it stays that way unless I edit.
If I edit, it shows the actual image in the edit window.

Other forums (NAM) will convert it to that js or whatever, but I haven't had r3v do that to me.
I'm using the "Dark" r3v theme, not sure if that makes a difference or what.

For quick posts with 1-2 images, I just paste the image directly in, now that that works.

Also, if you put a lowercase "h" at the end of the imgur link before ".jpeg", it'll format the image to page width of your screen instead of the static original size.

The source button is exactly what I was after. Thank you sir you have saved my sanity. I hate being old and not being able to operate technology and I'm only 30.
