we told you the answers but your eyes appear top be painted on
the engine will barely if at all make more power than a 2.8L with smaller cam and RHD intake and proper ecu so think about how much you value the sleeper part before spending a ton of $$$ on mismatched parts89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

You need 2 of those- one for each cumshaft.Adhustable cum gear
...but I'm too late to this party, I guess.
I was going to suggest trying to put a bigger,
stock- looking intake on. Or trying to somehow
dick with the stock intake (cheater inlet underneath, yadda yadda)
to bypass the long, narrow tubes.
Dick with, being the operative word here, I guess.
Only made 3 pages. <disappoint>
But maybe Aprostate will return.
Sometimes he does.
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george gravesComment

I know you're a shit stirrer, but really you're going a bit below even yourself here, how can one claim to know anything about these old cars and not know that Motronic 1.3 is primitive even compared to old megasquirt versions? Anyone with a grain of knowledge on the subject will know it's not about being "smarter" it's about the fact that though BMW engineers were doing the best they could with what they chose, the system they were working with is primitive compared to even low end standalone systems from the mid 2000s, let alone more advanced stuff available today.
Hell the flapper style AFM alone is a liability to flow and transient performance, let's not get into the amount of memory in a Motronic box and its proccessing capabilities. Really it's quite impressive they were able to do what they did with so little. The flapper AFM was old tech even in the late 80s when the switch to Motronic 1.3 was made, consider the fact that LH-Jetronic versions from the early '80s onward used by manufacturers such as Volvo were using the superior hot wire AMM.
Why do I bother though, this is a guy who considers the stock intake from AFM to manifold a "minor" restriction for an all-out performance engine build with head work and everything.Comment

I don't think he understands the term sleeper.
Cars pulling up to the light next to you can't see under your hood.
Thanks for leaving the forum, good riddance
