UI, better and better every iteration. At least we have a like button so we can feel validated or whatever.

Youtube needs to bring back the visible dislike count. Actually all social media needs a dislike. Add one to my work Teams channels too while we are at it.

I never understood why they've done this. Removing dislikes or just never having them. Like, I really appreciated finding a youtube video tutorial, then immediately seeing the significant dislikes, and moving on to find a better tutorial. Now I have to read the comments, only to realize this video got recommended due to its comment activity, rather than what the context of the comments are. Like, jesus, that makes no sense, bad videos shouldn't be recommended based on how many people comment about how crappy it is.
If I'm extra irritated, I'll report the video claiming misleading or dangerous information or whatever.

People need to know when their stuff sucks.

I don't know if yours is just more locked down than mine is but we can react with any emoji in the list on teams. We've had fun with that, including the clip art of the shark captioned "we got sued"

as far as I understand, it's not a real dislike count - it takes the ratio of like:dislike and multiplies it by the total like count.

I watched that a few days back, it was an interesting video! In fact, I've watched most of his content just to learn more about how things work. It really is a great channel, even if he does repeat himself a little.

I was served this video as well haha.
Probably because I watched his dishwasher, window awnings, and Peltier module mini-fridge videos. They were good too.

After looking through Northern's most recent car thread updates, I'm curious what everyone's current stable looks like. Seems we're the people who are always looking for more cars to fit different purposes. I'm always dreaming but rarely change vehicles, unlike some of you here... (2mAn)

                      1. Project car - e30, never ending project, may run this year, more likely next year
                      2. Daily - Ram 1500, just as rusty as the e30 and has 220k miles, looking into replacing this for something newer within the next year or so
                      3. Actual reliable daily - Wife's Toyota Highlander - reliable but also at 270k miles.

                            1. E30 - Never ending project, may run this year, more likely next year (couldn't have put it better myself), would like to get to the point where I can drive anytime in the summer and tackle a few small winter projects.

                            2. XC90 - Comfy baby hauler. Crushes highway miles, has been very reliable besides a seized rear caliper, PCV leak, O2 sensor, and a broken headlight (to be fair, someone hit it)

                            3. R56 S - Honestly, I don't know. Basically like a FWD E30 with a 6 speed and choo choo noises. Built like poo, but parts are cheap and it's fun. On the chopping block as I don't have a chance to drive it and it is too similar in use case to the E30 so I feel like it just takes up time I could be working on the E30.

                            4. LR4 - Mall crawler, want to do trails with friends but everyone has been busy since I bought it. Online community has greatly exceeded expectations (vs the Mini and XC90). Still in the honeymoon phase - it has 290k on the clock and it needs work, but overall way better than it should be for that mileage.

Wife and I don't have our "own" vehicles (Exception: the E30 is "mine", and she's only driven it a handful of times).
I walk to work when the weather is decent, and she usually takes the LR4 to leave the XC90 for our Au Pair to drive the baby around.
If I WFH and need to leave the house briefly, I'll take the R56, otherwise our Au Pair uses it in the evening.

This is what I wish I could do haha. While looking for a possible truck replacement, I thought about just getting something else and keeping the truck too but wouldn't want to pay to have it insured and drive a few miles a year. Do you keep everything insured or do you rotate through?

I keep everything insured…. Probably spending about 600 to make that happen

the motorcycles make up half of that…
