Sounds like an evap system issue. I'd check the canister and lines to and from it. My E30 is missing its canister and just has an open vent hard line. It has never smelled like gas under the hood.

      I cant stand that shit

if you don't drive the car hard or "hoon" it i wouldn't worry about it.
I know exactly what you're talking about, She acts like she is going to lose control even when I am driving her hard so It's why I'm currently on the hunt for a messed up 325es or 325is for that limited slip and everything else. I'm putting better tires and upgrading to a good set of springs and shocks but without that LSD and a rear sway bar, She will continue to barrelroll through corners and make me feel like i am driving a boat.

How are your bushings, specifically rear subframe, trailing arm, and differential?

You might be surprised, a new set of OEM rubber bushings could be what you need.

They're worn but still useable, However I'm planning to run a 80a bushing kit from garagistic since it'll just replace everything without thinking too much. I'm still throwing in a LSD for fun!

Its a double-edged sword, because you want to support the vendors who support us, especially small businesses located here... but then theres sacrifices you have to make... I like that I can go locally and pick them up.

Who else is there? Condor Racing? Ireland Engineering? Could say the same about all of them...

Same. Put my vert up for sale a few days ago and last night it threw a transmission warning light, so that's pretty cool.
