If that rack is really the same as the Z3 1.9 short rack, you'll have a heck of a time driving it with a power steering delete.

This is Toes. Don't assume he didn't swap an m42 into an otherwise useful e30 ;)

yea air bag cars need firewall modified.

anyone that says they didnt, has it binding against metal, and has the boot covering hole, off , so you can see the road better...

that is if its a airbag late model car, and not some m42 powered dodge flat bed

I installed the delete plate then pressure washed it. its fine.

my 350mm momo monte carlo and no power steering is barely a challenge... much easier than my 325is mtech I 385mm without power steering. I think the car will be fine. I removed the splined shaft that goes from the steering wheel shaft to the lower knuckle, to make the mods on firewall easier.

the racks are pretty damn close, Im just going to throw it on tonight. I measured the best I could but it is sorta difficult to get accurate measurements. I made an appt for an alignment tomorrow after work. Seems like the best way to go about it, Im sure the car will drive good enough to get to the shop.

I think it's the stalk. The white part that hits the wheel should be horizontal when either blinker is on. Mine goes up or down depending on which blinker is on. I believe the tiny springs in there are broken.

Are you sure? The stalk online is $180.

Basically, if I pushed the steering in anger I could get it to honk. It would also happen when parking. Funny at first but got annoying. Here's some pics of the parts needed.

These tiny screws are expensive for what you get, but it's a solution that cost about $25

Might be worth looking to see if this alone is something that can be replaced

got it aligned and car feels great. some bump steer still but nothing crazy... I used the AKG rack spacers and placed them on top of the rack. had the alignment set to 0.00degrees toe.

and without power steering it is fine. another perk of the 16V :)
