Actually, you want it to be on just under the opening of the Thermostat. Most Thermostats are not like a switch, it's a gradual transition from open to close (couple degree's either side.) In a properly working cooling system, the thermostat should be opening and closing as the engine temp fluctuates. You want the water to linger in both the engine block and the radiator, so having the fan come on before the thermostat opens helps to cool the incoming charge.Originally posted by EN318isPDX View Post

Local exhaust guy (best in town) today got my car up on the rack and quoted me $80 to run a single 2.5" pipe from the cat back.. so about 10 feet long Id guess. And install my muffler.
