If it was in truly storage for 12yrs it's going to need a lot more than a plugs and a water pump, namely a full engine reseal, updated timing components, etc etc once someone starts driving it.

what i really want to know is, why does a 49k mile car, that supposedly presents itself "like a 49k mile car", need a complete repaint? that thing is hammered for the miles. what a piece of shit. my 140k car was nicer in so many ways... but all the armchair retards will eat that one up, like usual.

      Here is a 20,000-mile E30.
      https://germancarsforsaleblog.com/1991-bmw-325i/

We were lucky enough to acquire this low mileage BMW through a friend of a friend. I am told that it was purchased way back(Carfax says 2001, But I know it was back around 1995 or so, as told to me by the son of the mother who inherited it from the father who purchased it way back)!! It was last registered in 2000, as evidenced by the Ohio tag that I removed. We purchased it from him in September of 2015

He told me that it lived in the garage up until about 2-3 years ago, when it was relocated to the driveway. We picked it up in that very spot.
      ...
The cosmetics weren’t as straight forward!! As you all know, BMW’s Bronzit, and Cashmere paints(Along with silver, and other high metallics), have a tendency to get “Hazy”, and “Blotchy” over the years. Being outside in the driveway for a few years certainly did not help!. As there was ZERO damage or rust, we decided to have the entire car repainted to coincide with the rest of it’s pristine time capsule condition!
Probably, 2-3 years on the driveway mean 5 years outside under the sun and snow.

red single stage paint will never wear the same as any of the 80s metallic paints. ever.

I read that red colors fade the fastest.

When I see original-paint red E30s, they usually look awful.

I just opened the FB group.

I would think mileage gaps would be flags but my e30s fall into this category. I try to drive them as much as I can but they seem to only get driven that one time a year when I have to take them for their annual safety inspection.

            Regarding odometer gears,
I require my odometer to work because I reset my trip meter everytime I fill up. How else would I know if my fuel gauge is working?

Probably one of the most constructive comments in the circle jerks that are BAT auction comments.

Miles are probably the most meaningless metric of a car's condition when it comes to paint. For instance If it was driven 250,000mi by people who had good luck (meaning minimal chips and body damage) and garage kept the paint will be in better condition than if it was driven 50,000mi and kept outside in a sunny state.

Lmao it sold for 11k and the BAT comments are talking about a nice price for buyer and seller. I'm not complaining but as someone who has driven e30s since 2007 it's a weird world we're living in
