Wouldn't really be practical the way the E34 is built. The ECU box is in the way, and the partition it sits behind is connected to the HVAC inlet plenum under the cowl. On the other side the fuse box gets in the way. The only way to vent out of the fender gap or a vent in the fender would be to run a hose or duct through the wheel well or modify the partitions that hold the ECU box and fuse box and run a duct through them, relocating the fuse box and ecu in the process. The E34's design really doesn't make this turbo stuff easy, I love how my E34 wagon looks, and the car is good in many ways, but I would not turbocharge one again, at least not with an engine that is slanted. It's a pain in the ass.

Little details moving along with smaller items.
Pro Meth Kit going in. This will be controlled progressively with the LINK ECU. Fabricated a quick bracket with riv-nuts to fasten both tanks in place. Front clear tank is for the distilled mist on the intercooler. Black tank is for the joooooce.
More to come soon.

Tucked some hoses in behind the liner. I want to keep as much trunk space as possible. Dont mind my home depot shims. I still have to brace the pump mount to the top of the trunk.
Street car vibes.

Solid state relay for the pump is mounted in the trunk under the carpet tray. About 69% of the wiring is done for the pump control as of today. Ill need to use the level sensor in the meth tank to trigger a boost cut when the level goes low.
More systems= More complicated, more shit to break so I am trying to do this as reliably as possible. Heat from the SSR should be relatively low on 20 to 30 hz. It should dissipate heat well through the chassis with a bit of paint removed at the mounting point.
Plans to test the system once I get the LEDs installed. To do this clean is very time consuming.

Mock up meth system LEDs. Green for go, yellow for juice flow and red for juice low. Red LED was missing in my kit so waiting on ProMeth to send me one. I may drill holes in my cluster face to fit these later but I want to test brightness at night first. I hate random aftermarket lights blaring. These need a 1k pull up resistor and they are not dimmable. If they are too bright, I will figure something else out.
For now location is ok.

Link is controlling the system and my wiring checks out. I still need to set duty cycle tables and HZ tables to complete the settings. The plan is to start squirting @ around 8 psi or so and be full duty at full boost.

Juice block location adapted to the cruise control mounting. Was unsure of placement but now am happy with the results. No need to fabricate some elaborate bracket so that was nice.

Strapped on the rollers yesterday.
.8 Bar 11- 12 psi for now. PCV system is a little small so I need to work on that. And my scavenge tank is just a tad bit small. I will sort these things out and then we will move from 450cc injectors to 1000cc.

What turbo are you running now? GT28 to something else to something from Pulsar? I see the picture. I spent a bit looking and couldn't find where you mentioned it.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment

I moved to a Pulsar GT3076. The turbo is more than enough for what my end goals are. I ended up with a bit of positive crankcase pressure. A lot actually. I need to sort that out before we up the boost level. The shop we dyno'd at was roasting hot inside. I plan to get a little more road tuning in before the weekend is out. Id like to see 1 bar and leave it at that for a bit.

What are the final specs for this engine? Displacement, compression ratio, etc. I remember you went with Molnar rods and aftermarket pistons, was the compression ratio 9.5:1? VANOS enabled? I'd guess stock cams based on how early peak power is.Comment
-
Correct. 9.5 to 1. 2.8L now. Vanos enabled from 2k to 5.2k. Im happy with the peak power placement. Id like to see if I can get the power and torque to flatten out better as the engine gets to redline. Good progress so far.

Crankcase pressure under boost is very high. So much so that my scavenge oil system is pressurizing. After a hard pull the system cannot move oil and the oil drain line backs up. The result is a brief puff of white smoke out the exhaust in overrun. I can see vapors coming from the scavenge tank vent line pissing out the passenger side of the hood. Here is my plan utilizing the front VC cover vent and one of the exhaust sprocket access bolts. All lines will be -10 AN. Oil filter cap from Rally Road will go to the intake to create slight vacuum on the crankcase. Remaining vent line off the catch can will go to the underside of the car and vent to open air (or potentially into an exhaust venturi) however I am not sure this will be needed. It depends on how well the system relieves pressure. -10AN flows about 15cfm. With three vents 45cfm aprox should be more than enough to get the pressure under control.
