    Right. Reason I ask is because we have had several instances where people at our shop are running synthetic oils in these older cars and every gasket sweats, leaks start from all over and no matter what you cant seal the engine up. Switching to a good conventional stops all the leaks ( or a good majority of them) My plan was to start with and potentially stick to a conventional Castrol in my E34 engine. Ive had the same issue with my M42. Apparently the molecules in the synthetic oils are smaller...??

    I wonder if conventional oil would reduce your oil consumption problem but it sounds like you had ran that prior and the results are still the same.
