I always bolt the lines up, let it hang, open the bleeder until a solid stream of fluid comes out, what’s that John Mayer song?

Then bleed the system via plunging the slave against the body to get any last air out, rather than with slave bolted up using the clutch pedal.

I have never had luck bleeding the slave via the clutch pedal with the slave bolted up.

well respected older mechanic told me to do the exact same with mine.

the most under appreciated and underrated E30 in the USA is 1991 318is in stock form.

        Alright guys.

I’ve contacted ClutchMasters, and have had the transmission out multiple times.

I’ve replaced the entire hydraulic loop 3 times.

        It’s fully bled.

        It’s running a ClutchMasters 15lb Flywheel and FX350 disc.

The clutch doesn’t fully disengage, despite feeling great. The bolts provided by ClutchMasters were about 2mm too long, and we shaved them down.

There are slight hot spots on the clutch surface.

It’s not synchros, as it’s an issue in every gear.

Shifts fine when off. When running and in neutral, sometimes it will go into gear. The longer the car is running, the harder it becomes to shift.

Everything looks correct in the transmission. I’ve completely resealed the transmission and replaced all clutch components (pivot, fork, spring, etc).

I’m kind of at a loss, here.

Warped clutch disc from letting trans hang on friction disc before getting it on the dowels, damaged pressure plate straps, incorrect TOB stack height.

You running an M20 flywheel? If so, I’d just throw a stock M20 clutch in it

Can you fit a slightly longer pushrod on the slave?

OP has the exact same clutch I am running on my turbo M42 engine. Apparently he made a post on fb saying he believes now it is clutch pedal adjustment height causing the issue.

                This is correct.

I spoke with ClutchMasters again, and after walking through the entire process I did with the clutch install, and subsequent times I removed the trans to try to fix it, they believe that the clutch pedal itself has been adjusted, as there's not enough free play at the top of the pedal.

I haven't had a chance to get back to the car to check, but I will this week.

Hoping this is the issue. I also ordered the 30mm TOB just in case, but ClutchMasters advised me against using the taller TOB, saying it will make the issue worse.

Solved. Pedal position was the issue. It also needed a clutch stop, as pressing it too far would make the clutch re-engage.

Just needs an alignment and the final dyno run, now!
