Seeing rust is similar to seeing a cockroach..

If there's one you can see, he's probably got 50 more friends hiding somewhere close..

I hope you got a nice grinder if you're going to use flux core lol

We'll see... Im stupid so if I end up with a fistful of dollars and an empty garage spot theres a good chance that what fills that void will be something that has many pluses and hopefully a few minuses...

I have done the engine but have yet to touch the rust. In fact, might be the engine for a second time before getting to the rust.

Since you need to fill the void, the most effective type of vehicle is clearly a truck or a van. Take a random smog exempt truck and put an M30 in it.

You can absolutely take it INTO the canyons, probably sideways, flipped, or maybe just backwards. That said, a Syclone would be neat.

Man I can rebuild an engine in a weekend if I have all of the parts, rust on the other hand you have to strip the car down and spend many hours doing prep and finishing work to fix correctly even if you have the donor panels lined up and ready to go.

Another thing to consider is that when you have the car stripped down to that extent you often say to yourself "well, since I've got it all apart, I may as well do these other 20 things that need to be done" and the project spirals out of control.

I'd probably just stick with the MR2 and develop that rather than starting over with a new platform again and again. If the goal is to drive, it doesn't make much sense to me to continually find a new project and spend your time working on it instead of driving.

Trust me I want to finally settle down and develop a car once its "done." Trying to find the perfect combo of let me modify and the car deserves it is hard for me. The MR2 deserves it, its been great, but ...The MR2 got flagged when I got it smogged so I might have a huge headache ahead of me. We'll see what happens... Im always cooking up something

I've always wanted a car where I can set timed laps at a track and be able to use that car over the years to judge my progression. Or to be able to see if installing, say a larger sway bar, helps to improve my times. My current e30 is so far pieces together I don't have anything close to a stock starting lap time.

Yes, normal people MUST follow rules, but if you've got money... Montana, South Dakota, South Carolina, etc plates are all good... F' that.

I was doing a little research on the montana plate thing. It seemed like it wasn't as worry free as I once thought..

If you do it tho, lets go halfzies
