Looks like instead of gracefully cutting it off they just smashed it off with a hammer.

Judging by the shape of the carnage, and the fact that the metal between the holes is pulled, I would guess a tow truck winch was the reason for this elegant hole in the frame horn.

i do think that if the buyer know what they are getting and bid accordingly they will come out ok. i think if the seller is realistic about what they have, that would be ok too. i just have my doubts about the latter.

Lets keep in mind that not every person wants a perfect car. Some people would prefer a car with cosmetic issues at a cheaper price and then leave alone or fix for themselves.

I sell around 300 cars per year, this is not my first rodeo. The new owner is more than welcome to fix some issues with the car if they choose to do so. This is not a showcar/leave in the garage/princess. This is a weekend warrior that wants to be driven.

Trying to sell it a a valuable car (E30 M3) when he has essentially ruined all of its value by making it non-original and doing it poorly. E30 M3s are only as valuable as they are because muh heritage and muh collectibility and originality and condition play neck and neck for value drivers with collectible cars. What you're seeing is how much people would value an E30 M3 if there wasn't massive hype behind it.
