I was supposed to receive a very important delivery today and found out it's still a thousand miles away. Yes, I bought another car from another part of the country, but this is a much nicer one than my E34 so it's stressing me the hell out to not be able to track it. Unfortunately I didn't think to send one of my airtags to the seller to put in the car until it was too late to get one there before the car carrier picked it up. So, protip for those of you who buy cars and get them shipped to you, as soon as you buy it ship an airtag for the seller to put in the car.

I hope they have been tanking, have you seen what they've been producing? A bunch of enormous ugly crap. Like, stunningly ugly. It's hard to believe the same company that made the E24 makes the stuff I see on the roads and at car shows now. I ultimately have no idea if their ugly cars are causing poor sales or even if their profits are truly "not good" but I can only hope their ugly cars are biting them in the ass so they'll change direction.

Utterly dragging their heels to get the new microbus into showrooms! They've been sitting on a gold mine while waiting to launch the ID Buzz. TBH, they should have launched that on the day they stopped making the EuroVan, and they should have made a gas version of it. Chalk it up to mismanagement maybe?

Overinvestment in producing electric vehicles that few people want and even fewer can afford?

Yeah I wish places would do free shipping to Canada.
Some places up here will, but nothing like the usual suspects in the US.

Typically still cheapest to buy from Rockauto, despite the shipping and charging all border fees upfront.

More nonsense ranting - the Mini community is often kind of a shithole for information.
There was a big thread on one of the facebook Mini groups, where someone realized a Tesla X/S rear 4-pot brembo has the same lug spacing and was a direct fit with some shaving/rotor spacer. Looked great with a Mini GP2 330mm rotor, but he didn't share details about the piston sizes.

It looks great, but long story short, while it's a heavy-ass car, at the end of the day it's still a rear caliper and the pistons are tiny.
I dug up the numbers and it's like a 35% drop in clamping pressure over the stock caliper.

Yeah they're a little more, and I will succumb to their threshold for free shipping because I have many parts saved, just for the purpose of bumping up the value of the cart. Am I falling for the consumerism trap? Absolutely. But as of right now, I have a window seal coming with my order that I wouldn't have bought outright. Shipping speed isn't terrible, it's usually 3-5 days for stuff in stock. Plus now that they have a second warehouse in Arizona, things are arriving a little quicker.

Yes I know... FCP has the same part, but the price was $10 more and the shipping was another $15. FCP is pretty damn slow to ship things though, or is it just me? They discounted my shipping last time because it was multiple weeks before it shipped.

At the end of the day, my cheap-ass tendencies caused this problem lol.

FCP Euro should sponsor me for how many parts I have from them on my car. I've consistently had good service and easily reached them both over the phone and emails. Their lifetime guarantee is honored as well, I have gotten good use out of that.
Pelican has been a decent second choice. Between them two, I've never had to fall on ECS or Tuner.

Last time I needed something from them I did do that, not sure why I didn't this time. I guess I forgot. Got a turner beanie with that order also lol.

This time I realized I realized rockauto does the same thing with the R56 as the e30 - some stuff is only listed under '88 for the e30 (or '13 for the R56). Anyway the same part was less than half the price.

Not sure why people keep going to ECS when you can date their evil twin that is slightly hotter, Turner.

Turner has high priority at ECS's warehouse how I understand, and get the same product if you call them it its not listed.

I think I'm a realist for the most part, just a reluctant one.

Like since my last post, I've been clearing out a lot of junk from my back yard, basement, garage, etc. Enough to fill about half a dumpster.
Local company has 3500lb rated 'dumpster bags' for like 1/2 the cost of a dumpster rental/disposal. We used them before when I demoed the old kitchen and it basically held an entire kitchen and some car junk.

I filled this bag last weekend, and my wife had been in contact with the company leading up to this, no issues.
As soon as we call for pickup, it's radio silence. Bag has been sitting there all week, blocking my driveway.

I also made the tragic mistake of ordering something from ECS... I tried to cancel the order the next morning, but received an automated reply about long customer service backlogs...

10 days later, still no response. They did manage to generate a shipping label and ship it during that time.
Now I'm in a dance with FedEx, who robo-called me to demand a $35 brokerage fee payment, and has been repeatedly attempting to deliver it while I'm having my wife refuse the package over and over. There's apparently no support available - their online/phone customer service line is just a robot that gives canned answers and eventually hangs up.

I know there's a metric fuckton of ECS hate out there, and I try to stay neutral, but man it is definitely deserved.
There's like one dude on NorthAmericanMotoring that manages ECS's official account there, and while his main purpose seems to be to push people toward ECS, he is generally quite helpful, and is genuinely the only good part of the entire company.
